Travel has always been a part of Katie’s story — a childhood spent moving around the world as a Navy family sparked a lifelong love of exploring new places and cultures. Those early experiences made airports feel familiar, new cities feel like home, and the people she crossed paths with a lasting reminder of why travel matters. Katie Shea Travel was founded on that foundation: curiosity, connection, and the belief that travel should feel as effortless as it is inspiring.
Katie’s background in marketing, combined with her eye for detail, design, and storytelling, plus years of global travel, shaped her belief that travel should never be one-size-fits-all. Today, as part of Major Traveler, she designs trips that are thoughtful, personal, and distinctly yours — elevated at every turn. Katie blends her personal approach with industry connections to provide clients the kind of access and ease that make every trip feel extraordinary.
One thing you should know about me is…
I’m a total homebody.
(Which, yes, I know that sounds completely counterintuitive for a travel advisor, but let me explain.)
Growing up in Japan, and moving every three years, gave me a unique perspective on what it means to call somewhere “home.” To me, that’s finding a sense of comfort and familiarity no matter where you are.
That’s why I value creating customized, tailored itineraries that feel familiar amidst adventure— You can still feel right at home even if you’re 5,000 miles away from it.
Love playing soccer in the backyard with your kids? Suit up for a Real Madrid game. Always binging The Food Network? Cooking class in Italy coming right up.
For me, it’s all about the little luxuries (pajamas and hotel robes are always included). It’s why I value hotels that get the details right, meals that feel like memories, and experiences that strike the perfect balance between grounding and inspiring.
